The FLEXICIENCY project aims to demonstrate that the deployment of novel services in the electricity retail markets, such as advanced monitoring, local energy control and flexibility, can be accelerated thanks to an open European market place for standardised interactions among electricity stakeholders within and across borders. This will open up the energy market to new players at EU level.
Are you an energy player interested in future market services?
We are establishing a Stakeholder community composed of relevant and committed market and non-market players of various types to collaborate closely with us on the project.
Have your say in opening up a market for services, join our stakeholder community!
Joining the stakeholder community is on a non-binding, complimentary and voluntary basis.
Large-scale demonstrations with real customers will be deployed in Italy, France, Spain Austria and Sweden, to demonstrate novel services in the electricity retail markets (e.g. advanced monitoring, local energy control and flexibility services) based on the provision of “real time” data by DSOs. Insights into existing barriers towards energy efficiency service provisions will be gained by setting demonstrations in different conditions, such as in Austria, where the demonstration will run in an electricity retail market, where smart metering has not yet been rolled out.
A virtual ICT platform based on open standard interfaces providing data access to any player under customer consent, will catalyse the interactions between relevant stakeholders and encourage cross-border and cross-player access to innovative energy services at EU level based on metering data accessibility.
